Hobson & Motzer, Inc., a manufacturer of precision stampings and assemblies and CTMA member since 1943 celebrated its centennial in 2012. The company, founded by AH Motzer and Harold Hobson in a barn on North Avenue in Meriden in 1912, has grown from a small but innovative builder of precision tools and dies to a diverse and vertically integrated manufacturing company. Much of the company's success is attributable to knowledge gained through their active involvement at both the chapter and national levels of the association. Four past CTMA Presidents were Hobson & Motzer employees: Alfred E. Motzer, Frank W. Dworak, Jr., Donald F. Zak & Bruce E. Dworak. Employees and family members celebrated the occasion with a dinner cruise on the Connecticut River in September.
